Celebrating its 18th season, the Duluth/Superior Entertainment League offers a series of top-drawer national touring productions and other entertainment, all presented at Duluth's DECC Auditorium. The League's annual "Best of Broadway" season runs from fall through spring, featuring everything from classic musicals to more contemporary productions. Some memorable past productions include "Cats", "Stomp", and "Jesus Christ Superstar". These presentations, which are chosen each year by the League's over 1,200 season ticket holders, add a touch of professional glamour to Duluth's entertainment scene. In addition to a loyal local audience, the Entertainment League also draws theatre-goers from Wisconsin, the Iron Range, the North Shore and Michigan's Upper Peninsula. The only professional theatre company in the Northland devoted exclusively to fun and laughs! Renegade offers original sketch comedy revues every summer and winter, a Comedy Spook Show every Halloween season, and comic productions by established playwrights like Shakespeare, Neil Simon, and Kevin Kline-not to mention a full season of children's productions with Tugboat Children's Theatre. Plus every Friday and Saturday at 9:30 pm, it's the Renegade Comedy Olympics-two teams of improvisational comedians competing in points and laughter in scene games based on your suggestions.
